Wannabe be a responsible politician! Rush to ISB,Hyderabad

This might look like a yet another script of Prakash Jha’s new political driven celluloid where an abroad returned agile dude, well equipped with dexterous management skills joins the dirty pool of Indian politics.

Very soon our politicians, who can be viewed on national prime channel seen brawling with each other and smartly displaying their acrobatic skill by catapulting the chairs and sound piece at their fellow politicians would join a short term course in one of the prestigious management institution of the country where they can be look forward to get tips on effective and responsible leadership.

The Hyderabad based Indian Business School (ISB) is going to offer a short duration capsule courses to our politicians.

These courses are specially designed for our elected representatives which will be conducted quaternary in a year at regular intervals.

In reply to the question that why ISB has thought to start such a unique course?Deepak Chandra, Deputy Dean of ISB said” Recently, we have successfully conducted a short programme, which was spread over three days. Around 44 members of the legislative assemblies (MLAs) from 11 States had received specialized training on various aspects of leadership as part of an initiative funded by the Bharti Group”.

“Apparently, the successes of the first of its kind training programme for the people’s representative motivated us to decide in favour of regular courses”. He further added “This programme was highly successful and we thought we should definitely work with politicians to take our expertise to them.”

“The feedback from the participant has made us to realize that such training is critical for politician” the deputy Dean said.

“We have now decided to extend this programme to four capsules a year at regular intervals. And also working on a portfolio of programmes on education/training relevant for other segments of the Government as well,” he said.

During the programme, a cross section of experts from ISB and outside will focus on how to make a legislator more efficient,” Deepak Chandra explained.

Besides providing insights into successful leadership through a case –based approach, ISB would also teach the politicians on ways for effective participation in discussion in the House.

“Hence, we will be guiding the elected representatives in sourcing information on any particular issue from a plethora of sources,” the Deputy Dean added.

It’s indeed a unique management programme which should be attended by each and every politician of the country. However, it could also be possible that at the end of each programme, all big national political parties would come to ISB for craving the best potential trained politician to consort them.
